Course Content
Derwen is a two year programme with 6 waves of learning.
A wave of learning will be launched at each national gathering and will continue throughout the term with individual, mentor and regional group learning.
The key dates for each national gatherings are the last weekend of September, the last weekend of November and the third weekend of March.

Year One
1. Faith and the Pioneer Gift
We begin our journey studying the book of Nehemiah. It's a story that frames our two years and introduces us to the themes of calling, despair that leads to prayer, faith, vision, action, restoration and rebuilding!
2. Holiness and Self-leadership
In the second wave we focus on the character of the leader as one who leads him/herself in all spheres of life. The story of Daniel is the backdrop and we also consider the work of the Spirit in the life of a pioneer.
3. Re-imagining Church
As we journey through the first chapters of Acts we try and recapture the early church's values and re-imagine how they can shape our vision.

Year Two
4. Mission in a Welsh Context
In our fourth wave we learn and will be inspired from a rich history of pioneering in Wales, as well as applying the values and vision learnt in the third wave to our unique context.
5. Prayer and Worship for Pioneering
During this wave of learning we will consider biblical and historical accounts of pioneering and gospel ministry through the power of prayer.
